Bihar paints its stories. In the villages around Madhubani, women have for centuries filled walls and paper with the geometric, nature-drenched motifs the world now calls Madhubani painting. Closer to Patna, artisans craft Tikuli — once ornamental bindis, today exquisite lacquered art.

Beyond the brush lie Sujani and Khatwa embroidery, Manjusha scroll art, Sikki golden-grass weaving and lustrous Bhagalpur silk — five of Bihar's GI-tagged treasures. Our front desk can direct you to authentic artisan stores and workshops in and around Patna, so you take home the real thing.
